Silent film with improvised music, 2015 Directed by Edwin Carewe (1928) Improvised-composed live music by the Aerocharribang https://aerocharribang.com/ Ramona is a 1928 American silent drama film directed by Edwin Carewe and starring Dolores del Río and Warner Baxter. This was the first United Artists film with a synchronized score and sound effect, but no dialogue, and so was not a talking picture. Long considered lost by film historians, this silent melodrama adapted from the eponymous 1884 novel by Helen Hunt Jackson (one of the first novelists to take up the Native American cause), was recently rediscovered at the Prague Film Library. This version restored by the Library of Congress in Washington was presented at the Festival International du Film de Fribourg, with a total new soundtrack created for this occasion, and played live with solo electric guitar.
