Need for Speed: High Stakes - Remake 2023 - Unreal Engine 5
Hi, I'm trying to recreate my alltime favorite racing game - Need for Speed 4 - in Unreal Engine 5. I have so much love for this game. This was the first 3D game I've ever played in my life and it blew my mind as a little boy back in the days. I used to play this for hours and hours and hours. This remake is not going to be a 1:1 replica though, I like to implement some of my own ideas as well. For example, watch out for a lake in the video. This one isn't there in the original, but I thought it would fit the scenery quite well. But gameplay-wise I want to stick to the original, so no crazy nitro-boosts, no midrace replay function, etc.... I had to lower the video capture quality due to performance reasons, which is sad, but the capture still is quite rough :( Without capturing, the game in it's current state runs at around 60 - 80 fps on my PC (RTX 3090 - Ryzen 9 3900X - 64 GB RAM), in 4k resolution, all shadows enabled, all Particle Effects enabled, Raytracing enabled. I'm not a professional game dev, just a hobbyist trying to create something I've wished to come out for years - a modern version of NFS High Stakes!
